Interim Director\, Scott Brown\, will present the fall update to Missouri’s farm income outlook for the year ahead and highlight areas of opportunity and concern. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nTaylorAnn WashburnRural & Farm Finance Policy Analysis Center\, University of Missouri\n\n\n\nTaylorAnn joined Mizzou in May 2022 and serves as the RaFF program director\, overseeing day-to-day operations\, collaborator relations and all communications and stakeholder engagement initiatives. In addition to her role with RaFF\, TaylorAnn offers communications and media relations assistance to FAPRI-MU and the Agricultural Business and Policy Extension program at Mizzou. \n\n\n\nPrior to joining Mizzou\, TaylorAnn worked in agricultural sales and communications roles for private industry and state government entities including the Missouri Wine and Grape Board. Most recently\, she led digital strategy and client multimedia marketing efforts for LEARFIELD’s News and Agriculture division (home of Brownfield Ag News). \n\n\n\nTaylorAnn is a native of northwest Missouri and has a background in production agriculture. She holds a MS in agricultural communications from Texas Tech University and a BS in science and agricultural journalism from the University of Missouri. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nScott BrownRural & Farm Finance Policy Analysis Center\, University of Missouri\n\n\n\nDr. Brown first joined Mizzou in 1989 as a FAPRI-MU research associate and has since served in various roles\, including director of strategic partnerships for the University of Missouri’s College of Agriculture\, Food and Natural Resources. Brown transitioned to RaFF as interim director in July 2022. He is an expert in Missouri agricultural policy\, as well as livestock market outlook and dairy policy. He has testified before the U.S. Congress on the quantitative effects of changes in federal dairy and livestock policies\, and currently works with the Missouri legislature on the economic effects of state policy options on Missouri agriculture. He also provides regular market outlook on the livestock and dairy industries\, and offers contributions to various agricultural media outlets. \n\n\n\nHe received the 2016 C. Brice Ratchford Memorial Fellowship from the UM Board of Curators for commitment\, dedication\, and effectiveness in advancing the land-grant mission\, and has been recognized as a Special Friend of the Missouri Institute of Cooperatives. He was the 2005 national winner of the Farm and Ranch Financial Management Program Award\, given by the National Association of County Agricultural Agents. \n\n\n\nScott has a production agriculture background and is a native of northwest Missouri. He holds a MS and PhD in agricultural economics from the University of Missouri and a BS in agricultural business from Northwest Missouri State University.

Topics discussed will include US monetary policy\, agricultural loan demand\, and banker expectations for land values and credit conditions in the 10th Federal Reserve District. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nBen BrownFood and Agricultural Policy Research Institute\, University of Missouri\n\n\n\nBen Brown is a Senior Research Associate with Food and Agricultural Policy Research Institute (FAPRI) conducting farm level and sectoral outreach initiatives. He routinely works with MU Extension’s Agricultural Business and Policy team\, also within the Division of Applied Social Sciences at the University of Missouri. \n\n\n\nA native of Western Missouri (Bates County)\, growing up on a diversified row crop and cattle operation\, he was active in 4-H and FFA leading to his passion for Extension. He received a Master’s in Agricultural and Applied Economics from the University of Missouri where he was a graduate assistant at FAPRI. She also serves as a special advisor on the agricultural economy to Federal Reserve Governor Miki Bowman. \n\n\n\nCortney’s current research focuses on agricultural finance\, commodity markets\, farm management\, and natural resource economics and policy. He co-founded and served as the lead economist in the Center for Household Financial Stability from 2013 to 2020. Since 1997\, he has served as an adjunct professor at the John M. Olin Business School at Washington University in St. Louis where he teaches courses in corporate finance. His research interests include financial institutions\, financial markets\, financial regulation\, and household financial conditions. Dr. Emmons received a PhD in Finance from the J.L. Kellogg Graduate School of Management at Northwestern University and a Master of Science in International Business from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. He and his wife\, Vera\, have three lively children\, Sonia\, Thea\, and Nathan. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nBob Maltsbarger – Rural and Farm Finance Policy Analysis Center\, University of Missouri \n\n\n\nAt the University of Missouri\, Bob serves as the lead modeler for the Rural and Farm Finance Policy Analysis Center developing state-level farm cash receipts\, farm expenses\, government payments farm income and specialty crop forecasts. He also serves as a senior research economist with the Food and Agricultural Policy Research Institute at the University of Missouri (FAPRI-MU)\, where he provides cost of production outlook information to support farmers and agricultural stakeholders. \n\n\n\nBob grew up on a family farm in central Missouri that included a cow-calf operation\, hay production\, and row crops.
